Renowned portrait photographer John Spinks travelled to our shirt factory in Chard, Somerset, to shoot dramatic black and white portraits of our expert shirtmakers hard at work.
Our factory is one of the few still producing shirts in the UK, and we endeavour to make our shirts in what we consider to be the 'proper' way: single-needle stitching, mother of pearl buttons, floating lining in the collars and cuffs, and the finest fabrics available. We would have no chance of achieving this level of quality without our dedicated staff, some of whom have worked in shirtmaking for decades.
John Spinks' rich, empathetic portraits, rendered in stark black and white, depict the people behind the processes, stoically absorbed in their work. A celebration of the unique human skill required to create quality garments, the photo series allows an intimate glimpse into our world.Explore Season

Easyday is an introduction to the uninitiated and an effortless choice for the seasoned Drake’s man, self-contained yet in step with the Drake’s aesthetic, reflecting our exacting standards of quality and design.
A nuanced and playful collection comprising fine Italian suiting in jumbo corduroys and chalk stripe flannels, our signature English shirting, and handmade ties cut to an ever-so-slightly slimmer width, Easyday offers the Drake’s hallmarks – unquestionable quality and impeccable design – at a more accessible pricepoint.
Reflecting the Drake’s commitment to a relaxed sartorial elegance, the Easyday collection is a modern wardrobe of indispensable, everyday classics.
I love walking. It's time to relax, and to think.
Visiting Shetland was a new experience for me, so walking across its terrain felt like an exploration. I bought an OS map and struck out on my own, looking for interesting things to shoot.
To walk and photograph the landscape is the perfect combination. You begin to understand your surroundings in a way you wouldn't otherwise.
I liked to imagine each element in these photographs - the model, the clothes - finding their place within this larger environment.
Introducing the second part of our Autumn / Winter 2017 lookbook, this time focusing on our fine handmade neckwear. Sleek repps and tactile 36oz foulard silks are framed by wholesome oxford cloths and shaggy Harris tweeds. Characteristic of our pursuit of a relaxed elegance, these combinations seek to add a touch of playfulness and insouciance to tailored clothing.Explore Season
We could think of no better setting for our Autumn Winter 2017 lookbook than the windswept terrain of the Shetland Islands. While the landscape acts as a breathtaking foil to the colours and textures of our collection, it is also the environment from which many of our raw materials spring.
With rich brushed Shetland knits and rugged Harris tweed cloths, the collection is redolent of the great outdoors. However, it is not only a collection for the country, but for the city too. The typically elegant silhouettes of our Italian-made tailoring ensure proceedings retain a refined civility and a touch of the metropolitan.
